About 

Karima Goodman

Chef | CEO | Co Owner

Karima’s pastry career began with a little flour, butter, sugar, eggs and an Easy Bake Oven. When she was 5 years old her mother bought it for her for Christmas. Her family soon became the recipient of many cakes, cookies and pies. Having the sweet tooth that she did, and the creativity to match, Karima immediately fell in love with all of the possibilities of making art out of sugar. Now a couple of thousands of cakes later, her passion for delicious and beautiful cakes has grown into a full time successful company known as Sweet Brown Suga.

Karima has over 20 years’ experience in the world of edible art. After receiving her degree in Pastry Arts, she spent time in Europe, Hawaii and most recently working at The Ritz Carlton, Atlanta as a Pastry Chef. During her tenure at the Ritz Carton Karima she has been nominated for 5 star twice and won once. 5 Star is a coveted award where all employees compete for excellence in their field and are ranked top in their field. Karima has also been crowned IRON CHEF SPRING and SUMMER 2009 which promotes and provides opportunities for sugar artists, Karima stays focused on the path of improvement and creativity, and is continually cultivating her skills. She is inspired everyday with new designs for wedding cakes, birthday cakes & full dessert catering, she continues to learn new techniques as well as seek the best recipes to equal her designs. Her passion for food is unparalleled.

Established in 2000, Sweet Brown Suga's was born, with a goal to “make your big day, our big day”. We believe cakes should taste as delectable as they look. Whether you prefer a contemporary, classic, or elegant cake, Sweet Brown Suga is sure to please. "It's been our life's dream to open our own mobile bakery and share our abilities with others and now it's a reality."

Danielle Bonaparte

CFO | Co Owner

Danielle began her financial career in Philadelphia, PA over 22 years ago. During her financial career, her book of business has housed thousands of clients with a grand total of 33 million dollars.

Danielle is a community advocate who engages people in workshops and presentations about financial wellbeing and life’s journeys. She is currently a successful staff manager and coach, which she has held for over twenty years. Danielle is also a certified Women’s Business Advocate; she is the Co-Chair of the Georgia Mentor Executive Program and proud member of Atlanta Woman Connect. Danielle joined her sister Karima in being the executive management of Sweet Brown Suga five years ago as a way to leverage her savvy business sense and to concatenate Karima’s creative genius into one dynamic company.
