karima Smith Karimas pastry career began with a little flour, butter, sugar, eggs and an Easy Bake Oven. When she was 5 years old her mother bought it for her for Christmas. Her family soon became the recipient of many cakes, cookies and pies. Having the sweet tooth that she did, and the creativity to match, Karima immediately fell in love with all of the possibilities of making art out of sugar. Now a couple of thousands of cakes later, her passion for delicious and beautiful cakes has grown into a full time successful company known as Sweet Brown Suga Designer Cakes.

Karima has over 15 years experience in designing and baking. After receiving her degree in Baking and Pastry Arts, she spent time in Europe, Hawaii and most recently working at The Ritz Carlton, Atlanta. As a member of ICES (International Cake Exploration Society), which promotes and provides opportunities for sugar artists, Karima stays focused on the path of improvement and creativity, and is continually cultivating her skills. She is inspired everyday with new designs for wedding cakes, and continues to learn new techniques as well as seek the best recipes to equal her designs. Her passion for food is unparalleled.
